Joplin, Mo.-based Sitton Motor Lines is closing, according to news reports. President and CEO Richard Sitton told the Springfield Business Journal he expects an orderly liquidation and made no other comments.

Officials at Sitton and the Missouri Motor Carriers Association declined to comment.

Nearly 50 employees in Joplin and up to 250 total employees could be laid off, including the drivers, according to news reports.

Erb Transport and K-Dac

As of the 16th October 2009, Erb Transport acquired K-Dac of Petersburg, Ontario. This adds another 40 odd trucks and 60 reefer trailers along with 60 van trailers plus miscellaneous expedite trucks & vans. K-Dac joins the Erb Group of Companies.

This is FYI incase you see some miss matched units and trailers. K-Dac also has a yard in Baden, Ontario.

Mack Trucks and Volvo Trucks North America, which already have common ownership under Volvo AB, will merge Nov. 1 into a single organization called North American Trucks.

Hey guys, I thought I'd let you know I got some pics up from the Big Iron Classic in Kasson, MN this past weekend. It was Quite a show with an estimated 500 trucks in attendance. Alex Deborgorski from Ice Road Truckers was there, Along with the O'Hare Towing crowd. The truck pull had a great tribute to the late Jake EIlen and Bobby Lindamood. A 45-year-old owner-operator died of swine flu after driving through several states before finally seeking hospitalization in an Illinois hospital.

I travelled out West a few weeks ago to see some relatives and got some pics of trucks from the Sierra Nevada/Northern CA area. Being from the East Coast I like to see trucks different from what we run here and figured some other guys also might like to see. Texting Top Driver Distraction, New Va. Tech Study Finds
